The best and recommended method to clean a diamond is using a warm soapy water and a soft bristle brush, which after you can dry it with a soft cloth.

However, you might have heard about cleaning with a toothpaste which will of course add a sparkling look to your diamond and on the contrary can also cause damages to other metals such as silver that is next after diamond.

GOLD

It’s ideal for one to always remove gold jewelry before taking a shower because of the harmful effects that may be caused by the soap and other chemicals present which will tend to dull the film of the material.

The use of a warm soapy water and a soft bristle brush is recommended.

But if it’s tarnished, mix a few drops of ammonia into the soapy water to enhance smooth cleaning.

Dip the item and carefully brush it, which after that you can rinse with a lukewarm water and allow it to dry.

STERLING SILVER

The sterling silver is a soft metal that can easily be scratched.

Therefore, it can be cleaned by using a silver polishing or a soft clothe. Also, it can be cleaned with a residue free sponge so as to get rid of tarnish.

PEARLS

Any noticeable dirt on pearls is recommended to be cleaned by washing them using a 1 teaspoon of Woolite diluted in 1 quart of water and leave them to soak for about 12 to 15 seconds in the solution, which after a soft cotton clothe can be used to clean and dry them up.

Further measures to be taken is to make sure that you store them in a cotton bag and not plastic.

TURQUOISE

Cleaning a turquoise can be done well with the use of a warm or sudsy water,

then dry properly with a soft cloth. Do not dip the stone in the water because it is very porous and liquids can easily seep in and cause discoloration.

Also, avoid the use of commercial jewelry cleaners as well, as they can discolor the stone.

NOTE: All Jewelries must be separated from each other.
